We are pleased to announce that 2015 was another productive year for data security!
Shredding and recycling a total of 6,856,204 pounds of confidential documents in secure, on-site fashion, C.O.P.S. kept approximately 685,620,400 documents out of the landfill, and over 3,428,102,000 pieces of data from falling into the wrong hands…or information systems.
Secure On-site Shredding
Partnering with businesses throughout the Midwest, C.O.P.S. helps companies increase information security and stay in legal compliance with a cost-effective shredding program. By recycling all shredded paper at our sister company, Midwest Fiber, we also assist businesses in increasing their green footprint.
The amount of paper that C.O.P.S. shredded and recycled in 2015 was enough to produce significant environmental impacts, saving 47,993 full-sized trees from being cut down to make new paper, and conserving 23,996,714 gallons of water! That’s enough water to fill 962 tank railcars, which could supply 148 families of 4 for a full year!
We are excited to see how data security and sustainable practices develop in 2016!
