What to Shred
Any document that contains sensitive information should be shredded as soon as it’s no longer needed. Regularly shredding documents ensures that information you don’t want sitting around gets destroyed. Here are quick and easy ways to determine if something should be shredded:
- If there are more than 2 pieces of personal information on a document (ex: Name and Address), you’re better off shredding it.
- Any type of receipts, check stubs, or bank statements should be shredded when they are no longer needed for your records.
- If you have marketing research, bid proposals, contract pricing, or presentations that contain information sensitive to your business and/or customers, shred it!
