What happens to the paper after it's shredded?
100% of the paper that C.O.P.S. shreds goes to our parent company, Midwest Fiber, and is recycled. Not only is recycled paper used to make new products, it diverts waste from the landfill.
What are the hours of operation?
C.O.P.S. is open for drop-off shredding and customer service from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Is C.O.P.S. certified?
Yes, C.O.P.S. has been an AAA certified member of the National Association for Information Destruction (N.A.I.D.) for the past 10 years. Learn more about our NAID certification here.
How does the shredding process work?
One of our certified technicians comes to your location, collects confidential documents in lockable bins, takes the material to our shredding vehicle, and shreds the documents on-site. Our trucks can shred up to 75 pounds of paper per minute, making the service fast and cost effective for our customers. We use locked bins for maximum security, mastering a completely “touch-free” process.
What is C.O.P.S.' service area?
Our service area extends in a 100-mile radius from Bloomington/Normal, with routes in Peoria, Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, and Bloomington.
What size shred jobs does C.O.P.S. accept?
There’s no shred job that’s too small or too large for C.O.P.S. If you have confidential documents to shred, we can help!
Which bin sizes does C.O.P.S. provide?

Are the C.O.P.S.' drivers background checked?

What should I do if my bin is full of confidential documents, and/or I have extra boxes of paper before my scheduled service day?
If you accumulate 3 or more boxes of confidential documents in addition to a full bin before your scheduled service, please call us to check sooner service availability. If you have 1 or 2 extra boxes, and can store them in a locked office until your scheduled service day, we will shred the additional documents at no extra cost.
How do we know when our scheduled service dates are?
We provide customized service calendars for your convenience. Call our customer service for your very own calendar.
Can I pay my invoice online?
Absolutely, and this includes credit card payments. Click the “Make A Payment” button on the right side of the page to start.
Is there anything that shouldn't be shredded?
There are some instances where paper should not be shredded. The majority of these include severe water damage, mold, and/or fire damage.
Does C.O.P.S. provide residential/drop-off shredding?
We sure do! C.O.P.S. has convenient drop-off locations in 4 Central, IL markets! Please see our residential services page for more details.
Drop-off pricing– Drop off pricing is $40 per 95g bin.

Residential pricing– $125 for the 1st bin, and $75 for each additional bin
